- I chose the a scene near the end of the film and this is where a majority of the tension is. Here you vaguely see a woman standing up behind the two people in front. This woman has supposedly died earlier in the film, which instantly adds tension and a sense of fear to the scene.
- I began to look at the facial expressions of both the victim and the possessed. I noticed that the victim, throughout the film, constantly looks like he/she wants to break down crying. For example here, you can see blood on his hands, his forehead and eyes are all screwed up and his mouth is quivering. This is an obvious statement that he is very scared.
- As for the possessed, she has blacked out eyes and quite a deep voice for a woman. Whenever the camera is on her, it appears at a diagonal angle. This appears slightly unprofessional as it looks like the camera has slipped. The music seems to increase in volume whenever the possessed person is shown on screen. The old woman tends to speak when the camera is on the victims face.
- Shortly after this scene, the lights flicker, almost instantaneously, and suddenly the possessed woman is about a foot closer to the camera. For me this adds the scare factor. It makes the audience jump and catches them off guard which is what all horror films aim to achieve.
- This scene is very effective as they have many straight fast jump cuts. This is a very good supernatural element and could be very beneficial within our film opening.
