Conventions of slasher films + Deconstructions of a supernatural horror

In preparation for choosing a genre for our film opening we looked at the conventions of genres and this helped us to assess the difficulty of producing a film opening in that particular genre. Below is a list of conventions for the genre of slashers and this is one that we, as a group, quite like the idea of doing.

After doing this I decided to look at supernatural horrors, another genre we were interested in. I wanted to look at examples of these films so I had a better idea of what happened in the genre and what the conventions were, then when we added it to the rest of the presentation we would have a better idea of both genres as a whole. In order to do this, I chose to watch paranormal activity 3. It was a film I had seen before and also one that was extremely popular and therefore I thought it would be a good choice.
