Location Scouting- Woolwich

I started my location research in the co-op warehouse in woolwich. The building was massive and covered in graffiti making it ideal four our supernatural film. However, on closer inspection i could see the building was covered in boards and notices saying that demolition works had begun and obviously this meant that we could not enter.

The building is perfect looking but unsuitable for filming.

Whilst in Woolwich, I decided to look into a car park in the area becuase it looked quite run-down and dirty, suitable for filming.

The building is still in constant use but the higher up we go the less cars will be parked there, this means we get the positives of it looking derelict and empty but it will also be safe to film.

The stairs can be very useful and effective because they will make running away and being chased look more frantic  and scary as the characters fight to get up or down the stairs.

There are a number of lifts in the building that are metal, small and look quite dodgy. This could give a good scene where the possessed is outside the lift waiting for the victims who cannot escape. A point of view shot would be effective as the doors open, so the first thing the viewer see's is the scary looking demon.

The area around the car park looks very unattractive, grey and dirty so this will give the whole area a dangerous feel.
A negative of this is that commonly supernatural films are set in remote locations or n family homes so obviously this setting would break the conventions, but it would be very practical.

The car park is so open that lots of natural light will stream in which will be beneficial in filming.
