PSYCHO
The first one I looked at was Psycho. The scene where the lady is in the shower shows the audience that there is only one victim - herself. She is killed in the shower, whilst no one is around. This is how most death scenes appear to happen in horror films - a place where no one can find the body but when they do, it'll be too late.
MIRRORS
The next film I looked at was Mirrors. Although there are several deaths within the entire film, each death happens on its own and at one time meaning there is only ever one victim who succumbs to power of evil. This again, conforms to conventions of there only ever being one victim.
NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
As everyone knows, this film includes many deaths, however by conforming to conventions Freddy decided to pick them off one by one. This gives the film more basis for a storyline and allows them to add more detail and depth to each victims back-story.
By combining the research that we found from our victim deconstructions as well as the research we found from our survey, we have decided to include two victims within our opening scene.
