Evaluation of Filming

PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
  • When we began to film out opening, we did run into several problems however we later manages to resolve these. The first problem we encountered was we found it difficult camera shake and this was the one problem we found very hard to solve. When we did our panning shot of our actors approaching the car, I found it difficult to pan the camera in a smooth motion. This was later resolved as it just took practice in order to create a smooth panning motion.

  • Camera shake was also a problem for us when we were filming our CCTV scene in the lift. As we had our actors running into the lift, although the camera was stable to begin with, the motion of them running into the lift caused the lift floor to move making the camera shake. We later resolved this by asking them to run slower into the lift. This meant that the camera was stable and secure.

  • When Abbie tried to do the make up for our villain we discovered that the face-paints we had previously bought were not good enough to cover the hole of Tia's face. Therefore, in order to overcome this problem of today, we decided to only film the parts of the film where we do not see our villain's face which bought us more time in order to get some better face paints.

WHAT WENT WELL

  • The thing that allowed us to get quite a bit of our filming done was the lighting available to us at 11.30am. We didn't expect the lighting to be as good as it was and we were therefore prepared to compromise our location. However when we looked back on our footage we realised that the location was well lit and the light was even across the shot.
  • Working as a team also allowed us to progress in our filming. We all participated in our given areas which allowed us to get a bit of filming done. We all communicated well and gave the best possible criticism in order to reach our given goal - getting as much filming done as possible.
