Practical- demonic symbols & drawings

For the child's lair we need to create many more pieces of paper with symbols and drawings so that the whole wall is cluttered in paper making it look messy and wild

numbers are used frequently in films such as 'knowing,' a supernatural horror, and in many other films more discretely. The numbers show how the mind is erratic and clutered with different thoughts. A person in their normal minds would never scribble so many numbers like this and so this acts as an immediate visual signifier of how the girl has been corrupted and possessed.

In future, using darker colours and crayons will help to make the drawings look more scribbled as though a young child has drawn them. This will also make it seem like the thoughts of the demon have rushed out of the girl and on to the page uncontrollably. I would also like to use tea and coffee stains to portray how long the girl and these images have been there. This would help to convey how no part of the girls sanity is left and how she belongs completely to her demon.

This symbol is very typical and probably most recognisable for most people. It is often used in films such as paranormal activity. Usually it is drawn on the walls/floor with candles surrounding it and so the audience can immediately recognise what it is. The other symbols are less regularly seen so it is important for us to use more of ones like this so that the audience understanding that a possession has taken place

By surrounding the lair with images and drawings like this it will trhown the thoughts of the girl on to the wall, forcing the audience to experience and be apart of her mental turmoil. This will also make the lair feel more tight and enclosed, as if there is no escaping the demon and its powers of possession surround the whole room as well as the entire girl. This will make the scene feel tense and unneasy especially because the victim is a young girl- someone most people instinctively and desperately want to protect.
