Location research

Looking for an appropriate location has been really difficult so far. Our group wants to create a supernatural horror and so we need an abandoned, derelict building to do this. I started by looking on Google to find local buildings but this presented difficulties because a lot of them don't tell you what date they found the buildings and so you don't know if they've been demolished by then. As well as that, we have to think about the safety of the building, the distance from our homes and also the practicality with regards to lighting and filming.


Below are images of an abandoned school in London. The villain in our film is going to be a young girl and so this school could show how she is trying to bring the victims back to a more normal time in her life.  Also, the contrast between a normal, happy time in most peoples life- their school years, and the supernatural demons can be more frightening

As well as this i found an abandoned mental asylum in London. The building is massive making it more scary because it has lots of dfferent sections and levels. Also, there are many remnants of its time as an asylum with hospital beds, cells where the patients were kept and even medical notes making the whole thing more realistic. 

This building was one of the most appropriate that i have found so far because it is in woolwich which is very near to all of us. As well as this it looks really run down and derelict which adds to the scariness.
